Knowing what to wear for a day in the field is a crucial element of your success. If you get too hot, you can overheat and dehydrate your body. If you wear clothing that isn’t breathable or that doesn’t wick moisture, you can bet that you’ll be extremely uncomfortable for most of the time. For those of us who drew early season tags, we know that we need to plan ahead and have access to gear that will allow us to spend as much time in the field as possible. If you’re constantly worrying about how hot you are, how cold you are, or that your clothing is uncomfortable, then you won’t be able to fully focus on your task at hand.
My early season hunts are based on layers. I wear a next-to-skin layer that will wick moisture, but one that will also protect me from the elements if I need to shed my outer layers. The Sitka Core Midweight Zip-T has been great for keeping me comfortable. I wear it as a base layer, then add a jacket for the cool mornings and evenings.

Basically, this means that if you need to camp out and wear this shirt a few days in a row, you’re not going to smell as bad as if you chose a different shirt that didn’t have this incredible technology.

I’ve even worn this shirt as my only layer on many hunts in warmer climates.
