Lanny and Tracy Barnes, aka twin biathletes, have been traveling the country and shooting this fall. Find out more about where they’ve been. ~ Barbara Baird
Youth hunt winner Ella Ihrig joins Micah Highwalking and Lanny Barnes at the Governor’s Ringneck Classic.
After the Ladies 3-gun match in Atlanta, we jumped in the car and drove to Scott City, Kansas for the Annual Governor’s Ringneck Classic. As guests of the Governor, we were teamed with the task of helping to inspire the local kids and help raise money for these local charities- The Northwest Kansas Conservation Foundation, Friends of Lake Scott State Park, Scott County Historical Society, Scott County Veterans Memorial, & the Healy Community Health Center. Our donation of Olympic Clothing also helped raise over $2,000. We were also fortunate enough to go hunting with 4 youth from all over Kansas as well as a lady who was the first West Point Graduate for her Northern Cheyenne Tribe. At the event we not only hunted pheasants, but we also had a sporting clays competition. Lanny ended up 2nd Flight Champion for that competition.
We have a short break in our 3-gun competitions now, but we will head to Raton, NM’s NRA Whittington Center to be mentors on a Freedom Hunters Elk hunt. We will mentor and help guide female wounded vets to their first elk. We are really looking forward to that event in December.
We also made the cover of Modern Sporting Rifle, so check them out in the stores they should be hitting shelves nation wide.
If we don’t talk to you before Thanksgiving, have a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving. Hope it’s filled with lots of family and friends and good food. Take care and thank you for all your support and please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. We will be restructuring our website, so if there is anything specific you’d like us to add to it or any ideas you have, please let us know. Happy Holidays!
