Houtman (originally published at theoutdoorreport.com) –– If you are a bowhunter, add some pink arrows to your quiver in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and support those that have fought the battle. I am putting three pink Victory arrows in my quiver this fall honoring my mother-in-law (survivor), my grandmother (passed) and my best friend’s husband (survivor). Yes, about 10% of breast cancer occurs in men.
Meet Trisha Bowen, Victory Arrow pro staff and spokesperson, an incredible advocate for women enjoying the outdoors, helping tinge a few quivers with a little pink this fall. I’ve met Trisha and admire her unwavering passion for hunting. She is a total die-hard.

“You could do a pink shaft, or with other vendors tied to the Victory website get a pink broadhead or pink nocks.” It is all part of the Pink Arrow Project, an industry-wide effort asking for at least one pink arrow for every hunter. This is archers helping archers.
“ I really respect Mary Hale for her fight with breast cancer and her willingness to help others that are in the battle,” added Bowen. “Mary gives a lot of herself. She’s very generous.”
Not just women hunters need some pink — guys too, please. After all, we see pink shoes, wristbands, skullcaps and gloves during every October NFL game on players, coaches and even referees. Outdoor folks are equally as passionate. “The goal is to get one in every quiver, even if you don’t use it to hunt but you have it. You carry it with you and that means a lot. It brings awareness and funds a great project.”
