Springfield, MO — Halloween, one of autumn’s most colorful and fun festivities, is eagerly anticipated by most children.
This year, bring the kids and have a Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and Lucy Halloween as the Great Pumpkin, once again, comes to your local Bass Pro Shops October 19th through the 31st 2012.
Now in its 4th year, this exciting FREE event features kids’ activities including fun crafts, a costume parade, “Trick-or-Treating” and much more and will be available at 54 Bass Pro Shops retail locations** in the United States and Canada the last two weekends in October. Kids will receive free Peanuts themed coloring sheets and get one free photo of them with the Great Pumpkin week nights from 5-8pm and weekends from 12noon-5pm (photo packages also available for sale).
Fridays, October 19th and 26th from 5-8pm, Bass Pro Shops will offer “Trick or Treating” throughout the stores as well as on Halloween, Wednesday, October 31st. Look for the orange and black balloons to mark in-store locations that are passing out treats.
Also on Fridays, kids, ages 12 and under, can dress in their favorite costume and be part of the costume parade from 6-7pm with small prizes being awarded to participants while supplies last. It wouldn’t be Halloween without pumpkins so Saturdays, October 20th and 27th from 1-4pm, kids will enjoy making a Popsicle stick Jack-o-Lantern. Sundays, October 21st and 28th, kids can get ready for the season by coloring a wooden mask. (All crafts available while supplies last)
New features this year include the “Grab an Apple” event and Halloween Scavenger Hunt. Saturdays, October 20th and 27th, from 1-3pm, kids will use a net or dipper to grab a plastic apple as they try to get the one with a prize inside. Sundays, October 21st and 28th, from 1-3pm, kids can go on a Halloween Scavenger Hunt. Kids who locate all the Halloween items throughout the store will get a special prize.
