This jacket is one of HERCAMOSHOP.com’s owner Shelly Ray’s favorites. She writes, “There’s nothing wrong with looking great while you are hunting. With the waxed shelter cloth, you will get through any briars and brush without a problem. I really like the front-loading game bag in the rear. You will look awesome while getting those birds – afield or at the supermarket. In fact, I use this as my runaround jacket on rainy, sloppy days here in Indiana.”

Mia, No there is no break in period on this one. The Shelter cloth FIELD jacket they make is much stiffer and would require a break in. I don’t think this jacket is very heavy, it is made of 8.5 oz shelter cloth where as the Field jacket is made of 12.5 oz. I was able to shoot easily the very first time I wore it.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, Shelly
I’m very interested in this jacket. I had a similar one years ago and wonder just two things.
How much does this one weigh (average)?
Is it stiff? (Is there a break-in period before you are able to freely raise your arms to shoot?)
