Revisited: PCS and Scholastic Action Shooting Program Nationals

The Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) is an initiative with the prevailing interest to usher children into challenges, life skills and camaraderie through the medium of shooting. Last month, elementary to collegiate-level participants brought their passions and skills to the stage front as they competed for national recognition in shooting proficiency.

In a 2019 look into the world of SASP Nationals, Michelle Cerino witnessed firsthand the youth and collegiate love for shooting sports and teamwork employed into action. Growth appears to be a central theme of SASP and this event.

We should all hope that the up-and-coming generation has such a remarkable interest in technical proficiencies, merit and one another. With SASP’s dedication to tomorrow’s leaders, it’s no wonder that Project Childsafe is on-scene to remind us all to own it, respect it, secure it.  ~IBR

PCS: Scholastic Action Shooting Program Nationals

While spending time at the Scholastic Action Shooting Sports (SASP) Nationals, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the amazing youth involved in the shooting sports. These young athletes are kind, respectful, polite and encouraging.  Honestly, they are a pleasure to be around.

The SASP offers youth from grade school through college the opportunity to safely participate in team-based action shooting sports. According to its website, “SASP is designed to instill in young people a set of personal values and character traits for fair play, compassionate understanding, individual responsibility, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and personal commitment. As the sport itself, these qualities will stay with them throughout their lifetimes, helping each young athlete reach his or her full potential.”
