If you’re not sure which Syren shotgun to get, check out its website, where you’ll find a wealth of knowledge, specs and options available. Syren offers more than 70+ SKUs, ranging from different models – left- and right-handed, adjustable and non-adjustable stocks, various barrel lengths and gauges, etc.

Next, find an authorized dealer, using this Syren dealer locator. Call or visit in person. Understand that some dealers stock more target guns than field guns, and others stock more field guns than target guns. Some may specialize in specific concentrations, such as trap models. Just because a dealer near you doesn’t have a particular model in stock doesn’t mean it cannot be obtained. Often dealers can order what you want, as long as you’re serious about buying from them. Another option is to try a few area dealers to see if someone else has what you’re looking for in stock and immediately available.

Of course, you’ll need to fill out the proper paperwork, and your dealer will walk you through this process. Each state has its own gun regulation, and there’s always the standard ATF transfer form, which will require a background check. Generally, it is faster and easier to purchase a long gun than a handgun.

Getting a Syren

Don’t forget this last bit of paperwork, which is easy to fill out. Make sure you complete and submit a Syren warranty to take advantage of the lifetime warranty on Caesar Guerini-made Syren guns, or the 5-year warranty on Fabarm-made Syren guns. You must register within 30 days. It’s as easy as going to Syrenusa.com under the “Contact Us” tab and going to “Register Your Gun,” filling out the info and hitting submit. You’ll get an email back confirming your warranty registration is complete. (You’ll also get a nice care package in the mail welcoming you to the family with some cool Syren swag inside just for registering.)

After You Get Your Shotgun

Gear

Syren-range-bag-01

Now that you have your shotgun, it’s time to gear up. Are you heading to the range? Consider acquiring a range bag to carry multiple boxes of ammo, shooting glasses, ear protection, as well as hydration. Perhaps you might consider buying a Syren-logoed, 22-ounce skinny tumbler for your drink that fits nicely in your golf cart’s cup holder.

You may also want to consider a soft gun slip, because a hard case is great for long term storage or breaking your gun down for traveling, but you don’t want to mess with that at the range. A soft slip lets you put your fully assembled gun into it and carry it easily between stations at the course with the added protection and peace of mind from drops or golf cart mishaps. Syren makes a fantastic option, made with heavy duty 840 denier nylon and padded protection, plus an easy “stay open” end that comes in handy for taking your gun in and out of its case between stations. It comes in black and purple.

Maintenance

Syren’s pro-staffer Kate Ahnstrom penned a great post titled Shotgun Maintenance 101.” She advises, “While enjoying your favorite pastime, take those extra few moments to protect your investment. You both deserve it. And, after each outing, at least run a “fuzzy wuzzy” or a “snake” down the barrel(s) and wipe down all metal with a silicone rag, or an oil based complete gun control product like G96 (per Syren’s suggestion). If it’s been particularly humid or even raining while you were out, you may want to use a soft, cloth diaper or some other very soft rag to first wipe down the entire gun. Remember to add a few drops of oil to a set of fuzzy snap caps before you put your gun into storage, too.”

Routine maintenance is key to the longevity of your firearm and following good practices is paramount to its performance.

Know that Syren offers a team of gunsmiths at the ready to assist you whenever needed with PitStop maintenance. Think of it like an annual checkup. Although the term “annual” can be a bit misleading – since Syren recommends a PitStop around every 20,000 rounds or so. For a competitive clays shooter, that may be a year of heavy shooting; however, for the casual bird hunters among us, that could be a lifetime. Regardless, as the original owner of a Caesar Guerini-made Syren, you get three of these as a complimentary service throughout the gun’s lifetime. Fabarm-made Syren owners can also benefit from this service for a small fee. Service is done right here in the good ole USA at the CG/Fabarm/Syren facility in Maryland … and takes days, not months, like most other manufacturers. Or, stop by and see a gunsmith at one of the major shooting events Syren attends each year and it can be serviced onsite. This is a huge benefit and a yet another way that Syren goes above and beyond to support their customers.

Syren Sisterhood

Lastly, you are now part of the Syren Sisterhood! Get out there and connect with your fellow like-minded savvy Syren shooters. There’s even a Facebook group that you can join and connect with, as well as an event calendar listing plenty of shoots around the country to attend on the Syren website.

Also, there’s fun stuff – such as earning your shooting patches for hitting 25, 50, 100 and 200 straight targets at registered events. Completing this feat earns you a spot on the Syren gallery on its social media channels and website, as well as the patch and certificate you get to put on your shooting vest.
