Have you ever wondered what it’s really like to go on a trip to visit a major firearm manufacturer? Women’s Outdoor News and Avery Skipalis bring you an article sharing details on a recent experience “behind the barrel” while visiting GLOCK Inc. in Georgia.

Recently, I embarked on an insightful media trip to GLOCK, renowned for its commitment to precision, innovation and craftsmanship. This exclusive behind-the-scenes experience provided a unique opportunity to delve into the nuanced processes of producing some of the world’s most well-known firearms. In a quest to foster relationships with their industry partners, GLOCK invited a select few to get a first look at their new products launching in 2024. During this trip, partners were also given a look behind the barrel and into the intricate world of firearms manufacturing.
Craftsmanship at Its Finest
From the moment we stepped onto the factory floor, it was evident that GLOCK prioritizes craftsmanship. The meticulous attention to detail in each step of the manufacturing process highlighted the dedication of the skilled artisans who bring these firearms to life. Although I would love to share every detail with you, I cannot share anything regarding the manufacturing process because I had to sign an NDA. I will share that every component, from barrels to slides, undergoes rigorous quality checks, ensuring that the final product meets the highest industry standards. It was also nice to meet the people who work in the factory and hear the reasoning behind some of their decisions.
Strict Quality Control Measures
The emphasis on safety and reliability was evident throughout the manufacturing process. GLOCK employs stringent quality control measures at every stage, utilizing human expertise and advanced testing equipment to ensure that each firearm meets rigorous standards. As a consumer, a gunsmith, and a firearms instructor, I value quality control at various stages. This dedication to quality ensures customer satisfaction and contributes to the company’s stellar reputation in the industry.
Listed below are the new products we got to see during our tour:
G29 Gen 5
G30 Gen5
One of the most highly anticipated aspects of our visit was hitting the range and putting rounds down range. Especially when the ammunition is free, and you don’t have to load the magazines. My favorite GLOCK instructor, Mr. Scotty Banks, joined us on the range. Fun fact: Scotty instructed the first course I attended at GLOCK 11+ years ago. I would call that rolling out the red carpet for sure! We were also given a nice basket of swag.
Skip’s Takeaway
This media trip to GLOCK provided a much-appreciated and comprehensive look behind the barrel. Furthermore, I was allowed to speak with key members of their staff and get my hands on new firearms before they were released to the public. The experience highlighted the company’s dedication to producing firearms of the highest quality while also fostering relationships with their industry partners. GLOCK’s warm welcome made up for the chillier Georgia weather.
