We heard about Kryptek in the women’s apparel/camo market last year, when our good friend, Amy Ray, of Sisterhood Outdoors, purchased a segment of the line and branded it with the Sisterhood’s logo. I received the Cronos ¼-zip shirt last summer, while on a prairie dog hunt with Stag Arms in Wyoming.
The Cronos ¼ zip is constructed with a “grid fleece” interior, which worked well in the mornings when it was cool enough to warrant a pullover such as this one, but also wicked away sweat – which occurred from carrying guns, tripods, ammo and other gear into a pasture for a set-up.
Made of 95% polyester and 5% Spandex, this shirt moves with you – not against you. I like the thumbholes, too, and it’s a piece that can be easily layered under other hunting apparel. Or, hey, wear it to a football game under your favorite team’s hoodie.
Here is what the women of the Stag Arms hunt said about the shirt:
“As someone with long limbs, I always appreciate when a long-sleeved shirt is actually long enough. The Kryptek Cronos 1/4 zip was fantastic, length-wise. The shirt overall kept me cool and comfortable throughout the day,” Niki Morrison, Marketing and Program Manager, Athlon Outdoors.
“The Kryptek Cronos shirt was the perfect apparel for our prairie dog hunt in June in Wyoming. It was the perfect weight to stay the right temperature and protect us from the sun. It’s been a great addition to the closet as well being able to layer it different ways to adjust for the Wyoming weather!” Torrie Roodhouse, Marketing Manager of Aero Precision, Stag Arms, Ballistic Advantage and VG6.
“The ladies fleece zip pullover from Kryptek is an easy favorite in my hunting gear wardrobe. It’s lightweight and fits great while helping to cut the wind which is essential out here in Wyoming. It adds a warm layer without adding bulk and it’s got a good stretch to it, so I never felt restricted. Great for the mid-season,” Aimee Botkins, Project Coordinator – Aero Precision USA.
“The Kryptek Cronos ¼-zip top is a great choice for layering on your hunt. I wore this over a tee shirt for a June prairie dog hunt in Wyoming. We had swings in temperatures, from cool mornings to sunny afternoons and I was comfortable and warm in this top. In addition to the warmth this short provided, the fit was also something I appreciated. Too often, fleece tops can be bulky. This top was cut perfect for my liking. It wasn’t too long, not too short, the sleeves were appropriate length … it’s like Goldilocks cut the pattern herself – just right. I actually wore this a lot when I returned home and it’s been hanging ready for cooler temps this fall,” pro-shooter Becky Yackley.
“I find the fit very refreshing, not too tight, not baggy and long enough, it’s just right. The sleeves are extra-long with the thumbholes; I love thumbholes in shirts and jackets. It can be worn over a tank top, t-shirt or even by itself. It’s a great item to pack when traveling because it’s so versatile,” said Michelle Cerino, managing editor, “Women’s Outdoor News.”
Sizes range from small to XXL, and the cost is $119.99.
Feel free to pair this shirt with its partners in the collection: Dalibor jacket ($199.99) and pants ($199.99), or the Thea quarter-zip jacket ($139.99). Or, choose to “bundle” all four items for $500.
