Three Reasons to Add a Laser to Your Firearm

1 Aid in low-light conditions

Finding your aim point is virtually instantaneous. Laser sights are easily picked up by the human eye, whether green or red, in low-light and dark conditions. However, always remember you must first identify your target, so depending on how dark the room is, you may also need a source of illumination.

2 Remain target focused

In a stressful situation, the natural human tendency is to focus on the perceived threat. A laser sight allows the user to place the aiming point (dot) on the same visual plane as the threat. This avoids having to switch the focus of your eyes from the threat to the sights on the gun.

3 Shoot from a variety of positions

In a violent encounter, you may have to shoot from an unconventional position that doesn’t allow you to line up your sights or even get the gun out in front of you. Here are some examples: you may be moving, lying in bed, or having to shoot from the hip. A laser sight creates a straight line directly to the threat. This lets you see exactly where your bullet will hit if you press the trigger correctly.

Continually train and become proficient using your firearm’s optics and laser. You still need to know how to press your trigger so as not to disturb your sight picture. Remember, lasers do not replace basic marksmanship skills, so practice scenarios in different positions under various conditions.

Did you now Crimson Trace laser sights have Instinctive Activation? That means when you hold your gun in a normal firing grip, the laser is on. If you’re holding it you’re aiming

Laserguard Hellcat

Read how easily I attached a Crimson Trace Laserguard to a Springfield Armory Hellcat here. The Laserguard Hellcat from Crimson Trace is available with either a red or green laser sight. It offers a master on/off switch and also features Crimson Trace’s Instinctive Activation. With Instinctive Activation, when you hold your gun in a firing grip, the laser is on. Then, when you release your grip, the laser turns off. The LG Hellcat wraps around the trigger guard in order to maintain the concealability of the Hellcat.
