Schaumburg, Illinois, hosted the 2019 National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic. Through this event, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever welcomed 22,387 attendees, hundreds of vendors and even more bird dogs.

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever

Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) are both grassroots, volunteer, membership-based nonprofit organizations. The mission of PF and QF is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education and land management policies and programs.

Both groups believe in investing in the future of conservation though “No Child Left Indoors” initiative. The organizations work with members, chapters and conservation partners to provide opportunities for youth and their families to share in outdoor programs and projects:

  • Forever Shooting Sports is a program that introduces youngsters into the world of shooting and upland hunting. 
  • Youth Upland Habitat Project is an entry point for youngsters into the world of upland conservation. This includes the Upland Pollinator Habitat Program, which includes community-based, upland-habitat projects and youth conservation activities. 
  • Programs such as Focus on Forever Conference, State Outreach Coordinator and the National Youth Leadership Council develop the next generation of conservation leaders.
  • Youth Mentored Hunts provide a positive hunting experience for kids of all ages, while teaching individuals and their families the importance of firearm safety, conservation and outdoor ethics.

About Project ChildSafe

Project ChildSafe is the largest, most comprehensive firearm safety education program in the U.S. It was developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry, and is committed to promoting genuine firearm safety through the distribution of safety education messages and free firearm Safety Kits. The kits include a cable-style gun-locking device and a brochure (also available in Spanish) that discusses safe handling and secure storage guidelines to help deter access by unauthorized individuals.
