With Independence Day — America’s birthday — just around the corner, we wanted to share some ideas with you for a day of patriotic fun in the sun:
•Visit Independence National Historical Park and experience all the other sights, sounds, excitement and history of Philadelphia — where America was born! You can even grab a cheesesteak while you’re at it.
•America is full of other historic sites that celebrate our independence and the courage of our founders, our troops, and those who fought for freedom. Here are six patriotic parks for you to visit around the country.
•Or just call up some friends, pack a picnic basket with all your favorites and visit a national park near you.
Whatever you do, you’re celebrating freedom, and that’s what America is all about.
At the National Park Foundation, we’re working to care for America’s historic sites every day of the year. And your support makes a difference!
So, as you enjoy Independence Day this year, we hope you’ll cherish the freedom our national parks offer to you. It’s the freedom for fun, recreation, reflection and inspiration … and what could be more American than that?
