Ohio Becoming an Outdoors-Woman fall workshop scheduled for October 4-6

Registration is now open for the Ohio BOW fall workshop! 

The Ohio Division of Wildlife is teaming up with Ohio Outdoors-Woman Inc. to host the 20th annual Becoming and Outdoors-Woman (B.O.W.) workshop. This year’s workshop will take place at Recreation Unlimited in Delaware County.

Year after year, participants of the Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshop gear up to face new outdoor challenges, from casting a fly rod for the first time to tackling the whitewaters.

“Becoming an Outdoors-Woman” is a workshop with a focus on learning a variety of basic outdoor skills. It is a special opportunity for women 18 years or older and is for you if:

• You have never tried these activities, but have hoped for the opportunity to learn from an expert.
• You are a beginner who hopes to improve your skills.
• You know how to do some of the activities, but would like to try your hand at some new ones.
• You are looking for the camaraderie of like-minded individuals, and are looking for an inexpensive, fun weekend adventure.

Course offerings range from shooting sports, hunting, water sports, fishing, hiking, birdwatching and more.

A Google Group is maintained and persons in this list receive advance workshop brochures and registration information. Workshop fees are around $200. The fee includes instruction, program materials, use of equipment and facilities, meals, lodging, and take-home items.
