Colorado women’s shooting sports workshop scheduled for July

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife will offer a women’s shooting sports workshop for 60 women in July. The event will take place July 12-14, and will allow participants both classroom and range training on gun safety and handling.

The classroom portion of the workshop is July 12, in the evening, and includes dinner. Women will learn pertinent firearm terminology and talk about the responsibility of owning and using firearms. All participants must attend the classroom portion of the workshop.

Archery, .22-caliber rifles, handguns, muzzleloaders, shotguns and large-caliber rifles will be available during the range portion of the event. Firearms and ammunition are supplied. Participants are also welcome to bring their own firearm and ammunition in order to become more proficient with their particular gun of choice.

Cost is $50 per person. For more information, visit the Pagosa Springs SUN. Email Natalie Woodruff at mnwoodruff@skywerx.com for application and registration.
