Bass angler Penny Berryman passes away

(Oct. 03, 2012 – Hot Springs, AR.) … Penny Berryman, 62, one of the most successful women in bass fishing, died Sunday at her home in Hot Springs.

She has competitively fished for 30 years but was sidelines in 2008, when she was diagnosed with meningiomaumor growing behind her left eye. She was considered one of the best, qualifying for 25 championships in various tournament trails. Her achievements occurred on the Bass’N Gals circuit, as she won the 1992 Classic, 1995 U.S. Invitational and 1997 Angler of the Year honors.
