Babbs in the Woods: Fish (back) on in the Gulf

I just returned from South Dakota and a few days of working with strong winds in combination with my Bushmaster AR  in order to eradicate prairie dogs in the Winner area of the state. One of the first news releases that popped up in my inbox read, Louisiana Reopens Most State Waters to Recreational Fishing.” It’s great to see that the Gulf has reopened for fishing in Louisiana, and I encourage those of you who have been putting off a trip to consider heading on down there.Consider it your own stimulus package, a gift to the Gulf and to yourself. I spent three glorious days on the water, courtesy of Alabama Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Center, before the oil rolled up on the beaches. The people who work for the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have impressed me with their honest daily reports about the conditions there: http://www.thebeachfacts.com/

If you’re still looking for a great family vacation or to get away with your significant other or a few friends, check out the Alabama beaches.
