Congratulations to Jessie Duff, the October cover girl for the popular little magazine, Blue Press, published by Dillon Precision Products, Inc., in response to its customers asking for more real women shooters on its covers. In fact, Editor Mark Pixler currently is looking for more real women shooters to be the next Dillon cover girls.
Pixler wrote,
For the record, I’m VERY interested in featuring women who enjoy shooting and/or reloading on our covers. So, please submit photos of your favorite lady shoot to mpixler@dillonprecision.com … I’m looking for the highest resolution photos possible, and if I pick your photo for the cover, I’ll pay $500 for the right to use it. I’m emphatically NOT looking for bikini shots, cheesecake, etc., and all photos with firearms must depict safe gun handling techniques.
You may mail your entry photo to Mark Pixler, Dillon Precision Products, INc., 8009 E. Dillon’s Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85260.
Jessie follows a very popular competition shooter’s cover at Dillon, Julie Golob, team captain for Smith & Wesson.
Pixler stated he’s more likely to choose photos that fit the cover format or have enough room around the budget for me to crop the photo to fit. Think vertical and think about typical magazine covers. Editors need space for information and article titles.
