Turkey season opens this month in many southern states and preseason preparations are well underway for most hunters. One vital task in preparation for a successful season is scouting: getting an idea of the normal pattern the birds travel each day.
Preseason scouting can put too much pressure on birds in their natural habitat if you are frequenting the area in a manner that the birds actually see the hunter; which, in turn, pushes the birds into another area with less disturbance.
