Guru Huntress: Duck, Duck, Flambeau Blind Bag

February 1, 2010 by Nancy Jo Adams

It was exciting preparing for my first ever duck hunt, which I attended last weekend with 6 other women hunters in Arkansas. The trip was a new adventure for me.  As with any hunting, there are a few things that will be different or required from game to game. I was finding out real quick that duck hunting required some unique items. One of those items that came in handy and was definitely a necessity is my Flambeau Blind Bag. A blind bag serves much the same purpose as a backpack on a large game hunt.

The Flambeau blind bag is a roomy 14-inch bag constructed of durable polyester, available in Advantage MAX-4 HD® (4040MX) and Duck Blind® (4040DB). The bag has a hard plastic bottom which keeps the contents dry and touts a large, front-zippered pocket and two side-zippered pockets. The blind bag has a zipper closure and incorporates a detachable padded shoulder strap that also is fully adjustable.

The blind bag easily held half a case of shells, my small first aid kit, a golf towel, my hearing protection, a snack and drink, my hunting license, two pairs of gloves, a tube of Aqua Glue, a duck call and lanyard. I still had some room to spare for shooting glasses, Chapstick, a small camera and several other items if I had decided to bring them along. The bag was easy to carry and to load on and off the boat and I didn’t have to worry if water splashed onto the bag.

The Flambeau Blind Bag has a MRSP of $62.56 and is available at any Flambeau retailer. You can also see this product and many other fine products by Flambeau offers at http://hunting.flambeauoutdoors.com/otdrs_hunting/accessories/hunting_accessories_pg2.asp.
